The Human Flower

The Human being is like a perfect flower:

  • A strong root full of nutrients from mother earth and grounding,
  • A beautiful stem, flexible and standing tall, reaching the sun,
  • And a beautiful flower-head, light, colorful and inspiring.

The root has our strength and nurturing. It relates to the lower body, including our abdominal vicinity, and the major organs that work daily to produce and refine our energy, as well as disperse is into our whole body (originating at the area underneath our "belly button", named "field of longevity"). This area is often referred to as the "pulse in between the kidneys", and also known in modern science as the center of gravity. in Asian philosophy, martial and healing arts this area is most appreciated and focused, as the true source of our strength.

The stem has our support and direction, and is related to the spine (back side), that supports our posture and movement, but also serves as communication canal between the brain and the peripheral body. The back middle-line is named the "governing vessel" in which we communicate with our body. a healthy back must be not only strong, but also flexible and erect, just like a healthy flower, having a "springy" stem.

The flower is our mind, light and shining beautifully as part of nature's creation. When blood and energy are flowing naturally in our head, our mind is wonderfully bright and friendly, utilizing most of it's human potential, learning, communicating, innovating and governing the body. A healthy flower is always beautiful to gaze at, and very inspiring!

We need to maintain and perfect all three parts of our flower in order to grow and be healthy.

I'm familiar with this beautiful and amazing knowledge from very long time ago!

Shiatsu-Anma for Insomnia

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or experiencing non-restorative sleep despite adequate opportunity for sleep. It can lead to daytime fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. Insomnia can be acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term), and it may be caused by various factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, medical conditions, medications, or poor sleep habits. Traditional treatment options include improving sleep hygiene, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and sometimes medications under medical supervision. Common reasons I have seen throughout my career as causes for insomnia are: going to sleep with unrelaxed mind (worry, stress, too many responsibilities etc.), environmental factors such as working up late, strong lights prior to sleep, eating spicy/heavy foods before sleeping and more. Insomnia involves to a great deal our Pineal gland, a hormonal gland located behind our brain-stem and responsi...

This art is still in use around the world nowadays, promoting our natural healing powers in our bodies. The benefits of pressure therapy include regulating nerve control and removing accumulated tensions from various tissues, hence help the body's physiology recorrect itself and promote its natural metabolic balance. Shiatsu-Anma therapy can benefit the body both locally and remotely (reflexed effect) so to promote free and natural functioning. To most people, massage and bodywork are accepted as merely a casual relief of symptoms and therefore, single casual treatments are more popular in modern times. There are many factors that may contribute to that, such as costly treatments in a challe...
